Shopping in Providenciales: Where to Shop in Grace Bay
Itching to check out the best shops, boutiques and art galleries in Turks and Caicos on your next visit to the islands? Browsing Providenciales’ boutique shopping scene is a must do while you’re visiting the island. Score unique souvenirs and browse must have island apparel, or add some local artwork to your collection.
As a premier provider of luxury villa rentals in the archipelago, we know some of the best places to shop to get the island look. Here are a few of Hummingbird Luxury’s favourite picks for where to shop on
Seventy Two West Boutique
Seventy Two West is a Grace Bay boutique with a carefully curated selection of clothing, home furnishings, locally made crafts and more—all of which exude the charm and sophisticated simplicity of modern island living. Here, you’ll find high-quality brands with a commitment to sustainability, gorgeous woven baskets and bowls, modern teak driftwood side tables. The delicious-smelling apothecary candles made in house look right at home in an island villa or your home. You’ll also find some great prints here with drone shots of the islands’ turquoise beaches and local fauna—including flamingos, turtles and migrating humpback whales—making for great souvenirs or gifts for friends and family back home.
Discover favourite local brands like Sea-Sage, Beche, Peppa Joy and in-house creations by Seventy Two West!
This boutique shares a building with Grace Bay Car Rentals and RE/MAX in the heart of Grace Bay. It’s right next door to Bella Luna Ristorante, a popular Italian restaurant on island, and a five-minute walk from Grace Bay beach.
Driftwood Studio
Driftwood Studio is a gallery and art studio that sells fine art, handmade jewellery, ceramics, and crafts created by local artists and Driftwood’s owner, artist Lucie Winton Stubbs. In addition to gorgeous beaches and near-perfect weather, the Turks and Caicos Islands is home to a thriving local art scene. Most of the artwork at Stubbs’ studio is inspired by local motifs and sceneries. Expect large paintings of pink flamingos, undulating jellyfish, pods of dolphins, and whimsical seahorses.
If you’re looking for a fun way to capture the beauty of the island, sign up for one of Driftwood Studio’s art classes—their Corks & Canvas event, which combines a step-by-step painting tutorial with wine and snacks, is popular among locals and visitors. The studio also runs children’s art camps during the summer that teach kids how to sculpt and paint.
Atelys
For handmade jewellery handcrafted with Larimar and seaglass, look no further than Atelys’ boutique – located in Caicos Cafe Plaza just steps from Rumeurs. A self-taught jewellery designer, originally from the Dominican Republic, Ateyls’ creations are a favourite of locals and visitors alike. With handpicked Larimar stones and seaglass collected from the shores of Grand Turks and Salt Cay, her creations exude the charm of Turks and Caicos – with the blue stones and glass serving as reminders of the crystal clear turquoise waters of the islands.
Hotel Boutiques
Many of the hotels on island have boutiques offering clothing and jewellery. Our favourites include The Palms, Seven Stars and Grace Bay Club. Shop essential island style at these select hotel boutiques.
Anna’s Art Gallery
To discover one of the largest selections of arts and local crafts in the Turks and Caicos Islands, you need to head to Anna’s Art Gallery and Anna’s Too in Grace Bay. Owned and operated by long-time resident of the Turks and Caicos, Anna Bourne, these galleries in Salt Mills Plaza—they’re a stone’s throw away from one another—sell paintings, jewellery, arts and crafts, and pretty much any souvenir or trinket you can think of buying for friends and family. Explore handmade local including bath and food salts mined from the island of Salt Cay, blown-glass ornaments, hand-woven baskets, and conch shell-and-sterling-silver pendants. Anna’s Gallery boasts Anna’s own creations as well as her carefully curated selection of other talented local artists.
Island Organics
If you’re looking for a little retail therapy and hoping to walk away with some great self-care products, check out Island Organics. This small-batch apothecary sells shampoo bars, organic sunscreen, coconut massage oil candles, and a plethora of other delicious-smelling lotions, soaps, and goodies that draw on the power of natural ingredients to soothe and treat the body.
The ingredients that Island Organics’ products use—some foreign, but many local to the Turks and Caicos Islands—range from orange, pineapple, moringa, turmeric, and charcoal to neem, a tree whose leaves are said to have restorative and healing properties that treat the skin. In 2021, the business earned an Invest TCI Media Award. You can find their soaps at their storefront in the Saltmills Plaza.
